THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT B.TECH .

Engineering studies have become smarter than any other field of studies. What should our engineering students must study ? Will they get jobs after graduation.Excluding self-financing colleges all other institutes offering engineering and architecture are now belongs to Technical University. (Kerala). All previosly joined senior student will be continuing appropriate unviersities. After 3 years all students will be under the KTU Kerala Technical University.

YEAR-OUT CONDITION .

Till now students can complete the course even after failing many exams. Now this system is opting out. The year-out condition is responsible for this. The is always an eligibility credit for students to passed out to each semester. For example , if there is 83 credits at the end of the fourth semester out of 94 the candidate can enter the fifth semester successfully. Likewise after the seventh semester if there is a minimum of 145 out of 162 then only the camdidate can enter he 8th semester. This condition is applicable in all semesters except the first semester.

For those has not reached the minimum credits those, students will have to continue the semester once more. The existed failing mentality will no longer last in the engineering field. If the candidate is failing in an elective-course then there is no need for him/her to study it again . They can study other elective course to reach the credit. But if the candidate is failing in the core-course then he/she will have to repeat the same course. But for first year students there will be other ease methods.

Also if there is no enough credit for a student for the third semester . Then he/she can join summer holiday classes conducted by institutions of cluster to rebuild their credits.

B.TECH HONORS.

The speciality of this year is that there is also a new facility to study for b.tech honors. But it is upto the colleges authority or management is to decide whether to include honors to their institution. The credit needed for b.tech graduation is 180 ,but considering honors the candidate will have to earn 12 more credits. The programme duration will be 4-years as usual. It means for honors you'll have to study higher than a average b.tech student in order for the above said 12 extra credits. The candidate will get the freedom to decide at the final year that whether he will want a b.tech or honors degree. For those didn't reach these eligibilty credits will be reguarded only as b.tech graduate.

SELF-JUDGING CLUSTER .

For Master studies the candidates will have win 10 clusters across the state by the academy of self-judging. The states engineering institutes principal's will be cluster members. One of the will be the conveener . IIT ,NIT , professors will be the chairman .
